Who we are

Rosie

I work as a Research Assistant in the Department of Experimental Psychology, University of Oxford.

I am working with Aoife on Conversations for Care bringing experience of organising campaigns with and for care experienced people around the UK. Among other activities, I curated the art exhibition at the Care Experience Conference in April, 2019.

I am also a Doctoral Researcher at University of Southampton. The focus of my research is the representations of orphans and care leavers in fiction. I am examining the research through the lens of both creative and critical practice.

I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Calleva Research Centre at Magdalen College and the Department of Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford. I work Dr Lucy Bowes in Experimental Psychology and Dr Sian Pooley from the History Department to investigate life course outcomes of people who experienced adversity in childhood.

I worked as a practitioner for nearly 10 years in NGOs and local government before making the move to research. My work and research focus on the well-being and rights of marginalised children and young people. I investigate risk and protective factors for well-being across the life span, to generate evidence for effective interventions.
